So here's a step by step guide as to what you have to do: 

1. Apply for SRMJEEE 2016 online 
2. Write SRMJEEE 2016. 
3. Wait for your 12th Board results and SRMJEEE results. 
4. As an eligibility criteria to get in via counselling, you've to get above 65% in PCM aggregate in 12th Boards. If you get below 65% you'll have no option other than to get through management quota. 
5. If you get such a rank that you can't get in via counselling at all- this depends on the branch and campus you're aiming for, ( subject of availability), in that case you'll have to get in via management quota. In this case, your tuition fee will be slightly higher for KTR campus & remaining are SAME.  SRM University is not collecting any capitation nor Donation . They are only taking the Tuition fees in form of Demand Draft in favor SRM IST payable at CHENNAI. But it also depends on various other factors like availability of seats and demand at the time. You can book your seat prior too... In desired stream at interested campus. 
If you do not want to take risk you can do so. 
However, do apply for SRMJEEE 2016 for management quota also. 
There will be slightly difference in fee when you get Admission in SRM University Under/ Through management quota depending on whether or not you've applied for SRMJEEE. Now as for getting admission via management quota, the process is fairly simple- need not to attend SRMJEEE 2016 and still get into SRM, simply follow these simple Step mentioned  below: 

• 1. Contact the university directly by visiting their admissions office- however, I have to admit, this might not work in some cases. In such cases, you can get in if you know somebody who help you in getting Admission into SRM university. 
• 2. Submit a copy of all the necessary documents and a DD in favour of SRMIST(SRM Institute of Science and Technology- this is only applicable for regular B.Tech programs offered at SRM University campus. The amount for which the DD is to be withdrawn will be the half amount of annual tuition fee. For fees details & Booking contact : 
• 3. Once, you've submitted the DD, you'll receive a receipt for the same, it consists details such as ( name, branch, campus, amount, application number, etc..) balance remaining fee need to be submit along with the original documents while joining at the time of class commencement . Again, this payment is to be done in form of DD ONLY. 
• 4. Once that is done- Welcome to SRM. Classes for freshers will be commence by 2-3rd week of July . 
• PLEASE do note that If you don't want to continue by any reason you can cancel your admission at any time . Only 1000/- will be deducted from the paid amount towards registration charges and the balance will be refunded by DD in name of student or parents whichever mentioned in cancellation form . 
• It's advisable to secure your seat if you are really interested to build your career with SRM University . We are there with you as a local guardian till course completion.
